Les Claypool

Biography
The early years
Claypool was born September 29, 1963 in Richmond, California, but grew up in El Sobrante, California, a working class family with a history of work as auto mechanics. His early education included elementary and Collins De Anza High School. Parents divorced when he was a little boy, but he said it had a decent childhood, noting that he never victims of serious acts of violence or intimidation.
Claypool has developed a slap bass guitar technique listen to other bassists like Stanley Clarke and Larry Graham. He also bought his first Carl Thompson bass, his trademark four bass. (Claypool, said in August 2009, now has 13 low, including a multi-wood fretless 6-string bass of the rainbow.)
In 1986, after the death of bassist Cliff Burton, Metallica, Les Claypool auditioned to play bass for Metallica, playing the song "Master of Puppets" on his bass. Primus

Primus began as Primate with Les Claypool, guitarist Todd Huth and various drummers, including Jay Lane, the mid-1980s, despite Huth and left the track shortly after to pursue other projects. Claypool replaced by guitarist Larry Lalonde and eclectic drummer Tim Alexander in 1989 (Tim "Herb" Alexander left the band in 1996 and was replaced by Brian "Brain" Mantia). Primus began selling local clubs with their catch direct control law and irreverent approach to music (his motto was "Primus sucks!"). This was later changed.

In mid-2003 Claypool reunited with former Primus drummer Tim Alexander and guitarist Larry Lalonde burning a DVD / EP called Animals should not try to act like the people who Claypool described as the first music DVD extra, rather than otherwise. In October this year, the group organized a tour two months during which he played two sets per show, the second compound in 1991 News Navigating the sea of cheese in its entirety. 1994 – 2001
Sausage
In 1994, he teamed with guitarist Todd Claypool Huth and drummer Jay Lane to create a sound from Primus. Songs such as "enigmas circulating Tonight" and "Toyz 1988" (now known as "crown of toys ") has been replaced with an entirely new kind of music.
Holy Mackerel
In 1996, Claypool product, designed and released a solo album "Les Claypool and the Holy See is Mackerel" Highball with the Devil. Claypool is credited with bass, drums and vocals on several songs, and guitar. Also on the album are "Marked MIRV" Haggard, Adam Gates, Jay Lane, Joe Gore, Charlie Hunter and Henry Rollins. The accompanying tour including Haggard and Gates guitar with Bryan "Brain" Mantia on drums. It was announced in the Holy mackerel Tour Mantia was elected to become the next drummer for Primus.
Oysterhead

In April 2000, has collaborated with Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool (of Phish) and Stewart Copeland (The Police), and Oysterhead. Claypool and Anastasio had sought an opportunity to collaborate. Everyone had a mutual interest in playing with Copeland had been an idol of rock during adolescence. In addition hand, Claypool, and Copeland had established a friendship. Frog Brigade

In May 2000, he formed Claypool Fearless Flying Frog Brigade Les Claypool, an experimental rock band. Claypool has been invited to make a band for the Mountain Aire Festival in Angels Camp, California. Jay Lane and Jeff Chimenti are members of Ratdog Bob Weir. Claypool out "Rat Squad" at the opening of Ratdog in 2000 and again in 2007. The brigade Rat has Claypool, drummer and keyboardist lane Chimenti, with guests such as saxophonist Kenny Brooks and Bob Weir. Claypool The two years are also invited on the set Ratdog.
2002 – 2005
In 2002, Claypool released a studio album Frog Brigade, Purple Onion. Musicians on several tracks to include Eenor Purple Onion, Mike Dillon, Skerik, Jay Lane, Ben Barnes and Sam Bass (Dillon and Skerik were Critters Buggin Barnes and Sam Bass heavy any port). In 2002 he collaborated virtuoso guitarist Buckethead with Claypool, keyboardist Bernie Worrell Parliament-Funkadelic/Talking Heads and former Primus drummer Bryan Mantia under the name Colonel Claypool Bucket of Bernie Brains (C2B3, "ie," C squared, cubed B "). Their concerts pushed the improvisational envelope material preparation, not rehearse. In one of their shows they prepared sandwiches onstage for the public to eat.
C2B3 back to the U.S. in 2004 to save the big eyeball in the sky an album with equal parts instrumental and vocal songs. The group began a tour of 18 U.S. state September 24, 2004. The album contains a single client child-like multi-instrumentalist Gabby La La (known as Gabby Lang Les Claypool Frog Brigade Purple Onion) on vocals and sitar. Also opened in all the shows (Sometimes scathing negative reviews) during the 2004 solo tour, sometimes members of C2B3.
Claypool also produced and directed the first album Gabby La La Be careful what you wish …. Gabby La La is the first artist signed to his label since Charlie Hunter in 1993. He played with his clock selection (and including the Bonnaroo Music Festival 2005) and added to their touring band, then again, Les Claypool and his Fancy Band. In 2005, Fancy Band line-up also Skerik, Dillon and Lane.
In late 2005, Claypool Release of 5 gallons of diesel fuel, a video retrospective of all his work outside of Primus.
2006
Electric Apricot

Claypool is the first attempt at a feature film, Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo, has been shown in several festivals Theater Spring 2006. The film is a spoof of the jam band scene centered in the wrong band, Electric Apricot, in the tradition of this is Spinal Tap mockumentary. The group has performed in the discrete area in California (most recently High Sierra Music Festival) for filming. Group members are characterized by Steve Hampton Trouzdale (Adam Gates) on bass and vocals, Steve "Gordo" Gordon (Brian Kehoe) on guitar and vocals, Herschal Brillstien Tambor (Jonathan Korty) on keyboards and vocals, and of course dog Miclovik Lapland (Les Claypool) on drums and vocals. The film premiered on 15 March. During a question and answer session at the Tiburon Film Festival where the film debuted Claypool said the DVD will have a CD soundtrack unpublished. The film has won other awards including Best films and (public's choice) Malibu Film Festival. Claypool also said the group might have to do a few shows, but a visit is little Adam Gates likely to work at Pixar which makes touring difficult. Other appearances in film credits include Arj Barker, Dian Bachar, Matt Stone and Sam Maccarone.

On May 30, 2006 Claypool released a solo album, whales and to and with the collaboration of Skerik, Mike Dillon, and Gabby La La. The album includes the song "Robot Chicken", which is the popular theme song Adult Swim series. His son and daughter Lena even make an appearance Cage in the song "Back Off Turkey". The launch was followed by a tour of U.S. with the following schedule: Les Claypool – bass, vocals; Skerik – sax, Mike Dillon – vibraphone, percussion, Gabby La La – sitar, theremin, Paulo Baldi – drums. This program is called Les Claypool's Fancy Band and tour the country in 2006 and 2007. A live DVD, Fancy, registered in the 2006 Tour was published in 2007. The audio track includes a mixture of the two sounding recordings and conical. A song from the album, "Better" was used in National Lampoon's TV: The Movie in fight scene between Preston Lacy and Lee Majors.
South of the Pumphouse

Claypool's first book, south of the station pumping, was published July 1st 2006 by Akashic Books. Copies of the book were sold during 2006 Claypool tour of the United States after the publication of whales and woe. The book is dark, the story intelligent brothers, murder, drugs, and fishing, and compared with the work of Hunter S. Thompson. Claypool gave his first interview The book in the rule book, May 11, 2006. South of the pumping station is in its seventh printing.
2007 – present
Besides touring the summer of 2007 at the national level with the band Claypool novelty only in October did a version of the band, known Fancy Trio. During the year he completed several Claypool Primus shows with festivals throughout the United States and Canada.
Pig Hunt is a film directed by James Isaac, to be launched in 2008. Claypool contribute new material and plays the role of "The Preacher."
Several songs for the Wii game Mushroom Men, released in December 2008.
On 31 December 2008 The sounds in the new year with its New Year's Eve show. He has been in the San Francisco Opera House with Zappa Plays Zappa sharing cartel and the game first.
The judge was also of the 7th Independent Music Awards. Their contributions have helped future careers as independent artists.
Ottawa Bluesfest 2009
The album solo, fungi and the enemy, was released on March 17, 2009. The album consists of material expanded Mushroom Men game music, and movement Image pig hunt, and has an appearance of Gogol Bordello Eugene Hutz is.
In June 2009, is touring with The Matisyahu, functions as a series of "double function and appear together on stage.
Life Style
He lives near the town of Occidental in Sonoma County, California with his wife, Chaney Claypool, his son, Cage Oliver Claypool, and his daughter Lena Tallulah Claypool. His house is called "Rancho Relaxo" after a Simpsons episode where Marge is sent to a spa of the same name. You save as much of his music at home. It is famous for his sense of surrealist humor and above all very eccentric personality. Recently it has been very open about their views liberal politics and dissatisfaction with President George W. Bush.
Claypool is an avid fly fisherman and even appeared as a guest on a recording 2004 fly-fishing in the world filmed in Idaho and the recording of a 2005 in Quebec, Canada. Both episodes are available in the extras section of 5 Gallons diesel fuel.
