Ok my what is the first line called in the reel the one that comes out last and what is the second one called the one thats yellow and finally what is the see thru one called my question is can the see thru one be the same size and not big to small and can i catch big salmon with a royal coachmen its really small
can i use a real salon egg as a fly fishing bait
the first line that comes out last is called backing.
the next line that is usually colored is called fly line.
the clear line is called leader.
yes you can use leader that is not tapered, but it won’t cast well. because it’s less flexible it won’t turn over and you’ll end up with your leader wrapped around your fly line and if the fish are even the slightest line shy you won’t catch anything as they’ll see the heavier line without the taper.
it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to use real salmon eggs, they’re to soft and won’t survive the cast. there are plenty of good salmon egg flys out there though that will work just as well.
